Liesbeth LeRoy of dutch nationality was born in Bosch en Duin, the Netherlands. 

Her passion for art brought her to Paris in 1980, where she studied french history, art and works as a guide in France. A long with er work Liesbeth took lessons in drawing, painting and ceramics in differents workshops. Memories of an inspiring childhood, traveling in differents countries will bring her to sculpt surprising animals and other creatures. Her preference goes to wood, metal, glass and paper. She uses lot of familiar objets like tools or bits and peaces she may find in junk yards. All theses objetcs thanks to her are given a second life, diverting from their original fonction.

People says that looking at these sculptures brings them back to childhood, and give joy happiness, humor and tenderness is often expressed by their lively eyes. I's as suddenly, the animal decomes real.

Liesbeth doesn't make ay sketches before, she works spontaneously, her inspiration comes from a peace of metal, an idea, or from nowhere... Trough inspiration and creation a fish can become a bird in the end, and that's also the very exciting part of Art. You don't allways or even know the outcome... It is like Life, it comes your way when you're at least expecting it!

Liesbeth LeRoy de nationnalité néerlandaise est née à Bosh en Duin auw Pays-Bas, vit et travaille depuis 28ans à Paris, en France.

Sa passion pour l'art l'a amenée à s'installer à Paris ou elle a pris des cours de dessin, peintures et céramiques dans des ateliers à Paris. Les souvenirs d'enfance et des voyages lointains l'ont beaucoup inspiré. Est ensuite venu la scultpure, le concept des animaux et personnages surprenants faits d'objets et de matieres hétéroclites qu'elle détourne de leur fonction d'origine. Aucun des matériaux n'est épargné, le bois, le fer, le verres, le papier, la résine... s'assemblent, se vissent, se collent pour donner naissance à ces animaux fantasmagoriques qui vous apportent la joie, bonheur, humour et tendresse et rappellent vos premières émotions d'enfant... l'émerveillé!
L'animal prend vit grâce à ses yeux "vivant".

Liesbeth travaille de manière spontanée, sans croquis.
Au fil d'une création , l'inspiration suit, un poisson peyt alors se transformer en oiseau.
